Clear expectations from day one.

Reliable attendance, safe working and professional conduct are essential on every Norcon assignment. Make sure you understand the agreed role, site and working arrangements before travelling.

Confirm the site, start time, contact person, role, duration and required PPE before attending.

Keep your documentation valid

Tell Norcon immediately if a card, ticket, qualification or right-to-work document changes.

Communicate problems promptly

Contact the labour team immediately if you cannot attend or if there is a significant site issue.

Do not travel until the assignment has been confirmed and you understand the site arrangements and role requirements.

Confirm the contractor, site address, start date, arrival time, expected duration, role and the person you should report to on arrival.

Identity and right to work

Provide genuine, current identity and right-to-work evidence when requested. Tell Norcon if your status or documentation changes.

Cards and qualifications

Ensure your CSCS, CPCS, NPORS or other role-relevant cards and qualifications are current and match the work you have agreed to undertake.

You are responsible for following the site’s rules, instructions and safe working arrangements throughout your assignment.

Attend reliably and on time

Arrive in sufficient time to sign in, prepare and be ready to work at the agreed start time.

Complete the site induction

Listen carefully, ask questions where necessary and follow all induction requirements and site rules.

Work within your competence

Do not undertake tasks or operate plant for which you are not trained, competent, authorised or appropriately qualified.

Follow reasonable site instructions

Cooperate with authorised supervisors and comply with relevant risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.

Maintain professional conduct

Treat contractors, colleagues and members of the public respectfully. Abusive, threatening or unsafe behaviour is not acceptable.

Protect confidential information

Do not share site photographs, project information or client details without appropriate permission.

Health and safety

Everyone has a role in site safety.

Follow the site’s health and safety arrangements and raise concerns promptly. Never remove controls or take shortcuts that could place you or others at risk.

Wear the required PPE

Check it is suitable, in serviceable condition and worn correctly for the work being undertaken.

Report hazards and unsafe conditions

Inform the site supervisor immediately and follow the site reporting procedure.

Report accidents and near misses

Report them to site management and notify the Norcon labour team as soon as reasonably possible.

Do not work under the influence

Alcohol or substances that impair safe performance must not be used before or during work.

Ask if instructions are unclear

Stop and seek clarification rather than guessing how a task should be completed.

Records and payment

Accurate records prevent delays.

Your assignment confirmation should explain the applicable timesheet and payment arrangements. Raise any uncertainty with the labour team before starting.

Record hours accurately

Record only the hours actually worked, including any agreed breaks, overtime or authorised additional hours.

Obtain approval

Follow the agreed process for having your timesheet or hours approved by the authorised site representative.

Submit on time

Late, missing or incomplete records may delay verification and payment processing.

Check your arrangement

Payment dates, deductions and engagement arrangements may vary. Check the information issued for your assignment.

Problems during an assignment

Report concerns promptly.

Site management should normally be informed first about an immediate site matter. The Norcon labour team should also be contacted where appropriate.

Unable to attend

Notify Norcon and the agreed site contact as early as possible—preferably before your scheduled start.

Unsafe working concern

Stop if necessary, move to a safe position and report the issue immediately to authorised site management.

Accident or near miss

Follow the site emergency and reporting procedure and notify Norcon as soon as reasonably possible.

Role is not as agreed

Contact the labour team if the work materially differs from the role or arrangements you accepted.

Timesheet query

Raise discrepancies promptly and provide clear details of dates, hours, breaks and the relevant site contact.

Documentation changes

Inform Norcon if your right-to-work status, card, qualification, address or contact information changes.
